Submissions Guidelines
These are general guidelines that we have found to be good indicators of the potential success of a book. You may adapt the guidelines for your specific title and include additional information you deem appropriate.
 
Title, brief explanation and audience:

  • What is the title of your book and how did you decide on it?
  • Who should read it? … What will the reader learn from it? ... Why it is important?
  • Who is book addressed to?
  • How big is the audience and how can it be reached?


Competition:

  • Are other books available on the same or similar topic?
  • What makes your manuscript different?​


Credentials:

  • Do you have experience speaking, teaching or writing about this or similar subjects?
  • Have you published other books, periodical or journal articles?


Marketing:

  • Do you have a marketing plan for the book?
  • Do you have a web site?
  • What speaking or networking opportunities have you established to promote your book?
  • How many copies do you think would be sold based on your contacts?


Format:

  • What size do you want your finished book to be (5 1/2" x 8", 6" x 9", 8 1/2" x 11", other)?
  • How many pages do you expect the book to be?
  • Which word processing or page layout application are you using?
  • How many graphics, photos or illustrations are required (color or gray scale - please specify)?
  • Is the manuscript finished?

  • Do you have a cover designed … or in mind?


Other:
List any other information that you feel may be relevant or pertinent.
